I have found the need to simplify things a bit and have decided to focus in on chickens. The ducks have been sold so I will not have duck eggs available for the time being. We might circle back to having ducks at some point in the future but they were not working for our current vision.

We are getting less and less chicken eggs as they go into their molting season but we still have tons of duck eggs. If you are a baker I highly suggest trying duck eggs! They are richer than chicken eggs so they can add so much to rich desserts! Perfect in cakes and sweet breads. Use less in cookies if you want a gooey cookie or match 1 to 1 for chicken eggs if you want a cakier cookie. They are amazing in custards! $6 a dozen. Message me for more info or availability.

Happy national egg day! If you haven't tried farm fresh eggs, today would be a great day! I'm definitely an egg snob now and only want to eat eggs from my own chickens.

Mama and her babies. Mama is a seabright, and the father is a Millie Fleur. They are so adorable, and I can't wait to see them as adults!
I might continue to mix these breeds depending on the results of these cute babies. Or I might abandon hatching bantams altogether since they are much more prone to preditor attacks.

We are at a weird stage with the ducklings and goslings where they are ready to be outside 90% of the time, but they are not ready to integrate with the flock. They have their own little fenced in spot in the yard and are moved into the garage at night but every chance I get, I spend time with them outside, and they are my little shadows.

Ducks have such cute personalities! They are so fun to watch! I love having ducklings and ducks! I'm definitely planning to build/plant them their very own garden to run around in!
