Our overwintered dahlias are starting to put up some blooms and prove that they are the dahlia divas!
This is also a great time for us to map out locations and check that the specific variety tuber we thought was planted in a spot is actually what we planted in that spot.
Last fall we dug, divided and replanted many of our tubers to reorganize our map and increase our dahlia plot!
We kept some tubers out of the ground in storage so that they could be woken up early for cuttings. The rest of the tubers were planted deep and tucked in with a thick leaf litter blanket for the long winters nap!
Our plot now has both in-ground overwintered tubers as well as this years cuttings, all growing together and preparing to put on a show as summer marches on.
We are planning to have a limited number of dahlia prescriptions available (starting in September-October) this year- so stay tuned for more information!
