On Wednesday, May 27th, we lost the patriarch of our family - Jim Minter. Jim was well known for his contributions to the newspaper world, but to us, he was a dad, a father-in-law, a Paw Paw and our personal worrywart. At 95 years old, he was still a great storyteller and we were fortunate enough to record some of his memories of family members who had long passed before our time. The YouTube video is in honor of his memory and in honor of his grandfather, Papa Harp - William Edward Mozee Harp, who passed in 1938. Watch here and listen to some of Jim's stories from his early years - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKGplpPP97E

In this week's Postcard from the Po' Farm, Rick talks about our good friends and supporters of Inman Farm Heritage Days, Inc., Cleveland and Georgia Carter, and their 4th Annual C&G Antique Tractor Show they attended this weekend. The number of younger exhibitors is growing and it's exciting to see what the future holds for old iron. Check it out here - https://mintersfarm.com/old-irons-future-is-in-good-hands/

This week's Postcard from the Po' Farm is about an old friend who created some great memories for many young men around Inman - Mr. Edward Ballard. We've done a YouTube video about his WD Allis Chalmers in the past (link in the comments). In this week's blog, Rick recalls working for him and his last memories of his dear friend... check it out here - https://mintersfarm.com/old-iron-stories

This week's Postcard from the Po' Farm is about rural communities and the people who truly make them special. Rick writes about his friend (and early supporter of his farming and tractor collecting career), the late Paul Lamb and his Inman country store. Although it has been closed for nearly a decade now, the legacy of storekeepers like Mr. Lamb will live on for ages as we retell our stories and fond memories for future generations to come. Check out Rick's postcard out here - https://mintersfarm.com/country-store/

As we begin our week on this Easter Monday and reflect on all that Easter means to us, we celebrate life. Today, Rick's Postcard looks back on the life of a wonderful friend and mentor, Mr. Travis Hardy, who passed just last week and telling him "Bye, bye old friend" one last time. https://mintersfarm.com/wonderful-life/

This week's Postcard from the Po' Farm has a tale of Inman's celebrity tour-stops over the years. Rick's most memorable (and favorite) stops involve some very infamous individuals, but one in particular holds a special place in his heart. Read about his visit with Johnny and June Carter Cash at the film set of Murder in Coweta County on Hill's Bridge Road - https://mintersfarm.com/celebrity/

As we close out the week post-Expo weekend, Rick's Postcard reflects on the origin story of the name of the Postcards - Postcards from the Po' Farm - and its inhabitants. One, in particular, may have been in the house much longer than the current residents 👻 Check it out here - https://mintersfarm.com/po-farm-the-origin-story-its-residents/
