There’s always more to life on the farm than what makes it into a photograph.

Behind the events, Christmas trees, old buildings, old tractors and trucks, family traditions, and everyday work are stories—some meaningful, some slightly ridiculous, and many that are both.

A well known fact is that Rick is passionate about farming and its history in Inman. But a lesser known fact is his other passion - preserving racing history in Georgia as well. This year, Rick was been nominated by his longtime friend, Ricky Williams, to be considered as an inductee for the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. And this year, Rick will claim his spot as one of the five inductees for the Class of 2026 in August. Ray D’Alessio with Farm Monitor visited Inman and interviewed him, honoring his induction. On Wednesday, May 27th, we lost the patriarch of our family - Jim Minter. Jim was well known for his contributions to the newspaper world, but to us, he was a dad, a father-in-law, a Paw Paw and our personal worrywart. At 95 years old, he was still a great storyteller and we were fortunate enough to record some of his memories of family members who had long passed before our time. The YouTube video is in honor of his memory and in honor of his grandfather, Papa Harp - William Edward Mozee Harp, who passed in 1938.
