The best addition to our garden for our bees are the moon flowers. I have 5 large ones out back and 3 smaller ones out front. This time of the summer,pollen may be scarce but not if you have these.
Check out the video of the bees getting into the flower before they open. In the picture, you should see several inside.
They also attract Hummingbird moths.
Anything for our bees!

Do you remember playing a game cloud-spotting or shape spotting? (Seeing objects in other things.) I even did this when caving with stalagmites and stalactites. Cool stuff
Well, imagine that you are driving to Pulaski and you see something similar to this picture. I was so excited that I pulled the car to the shoulder to take a picture. No luck. The clouds had moved slightly to distort the image. I had to tell someone so I called Tommy Webb to let him know what I saw.
This happened the 2nd week of June. I wanted to recreate the picture from my mind so I used AI. The outline is correct but the detail in the clouds is not. Just imagine that you are looking only at the outline.
Why am I posting this now?
You know how people say that God has spoken to them. I feel that this cloud formation was God reminding me that he is always with me.
If you find this hard to believe, remember that God knows what we need. I guess that day I needed a visual. 🥰

Let's talk about bee food again. Each year, there is a period of time when the honey bees struggle to find what they need. This is called the dearth period. Dearth is defined as the inadequate supply of resources. The honey bees love clover. My mom and dad have honey bees all over their yard (clover). They don't have hives but remember bees will search for what they need. It is also my excuse for not mowing their yard as frequently as their neighbors mow🤣. No it is not too high. It is just right.😀

This time of year, we are praying that the bees can find enough food. Yes,they do travel up to 5 miles in search of what they need. However, It always helps to have things on our property to help since feeding them sugar water isn't ideal for the stronger hives.
At this time,our bees are enjoying our clover and my moon plants. We have 3 moon plants blooming and 3 more that will be blooming soon.
Plant for the bees.
