🍷✨ DATE NIGHT GEM: RUBY LADLE ✨🍷

We stopped by Ruby Ladle in Corpus Christi, and this is exactly the kind of locally owned, chef-driven restaurant we love finding for Date Night Eats.

Ruby Ladle takes familiar Southern and Gulf Coast flavors and gives them a more elevated, creative approach. The menu leans French-Cajun, with seasonal ingredients and dishes that can change as the chefs bring new ideas into the kitchen.

What really makes this place fit the Date Night Eats vibe is the experience. It’s a smaller, intimate restaurant where you can sit down, enjoy the meal, and make dinner feel like an actual night out. This isn’t just another quick stop for food — it’s somewhere we’d put on the list for a date night, anniversary, or just an excuse to try something different in Corpus Christi. ❤️

And whatever you order… save room for dessert. 👀 Chef-driven savory food AND serious pastry skills under the same roof is always going to get our attention.

Another local spot showing that the Corpus Christi food scene has a lot more to offer than people sometimes realize. 🙌

🍽️ NEW FINE DINING ALERT IN CORPUS CHRISTI! 🐑✨Black Lamb Chef Table

Date Night Eats got an early taste of Black Lamb Chef Table, one of Corpus Christi’s newest chef-driven concepts, and right now they’re giving us a preview through lunch service before the full Chef Table experience begins.

For lunch, we went straight for two sandwiches — the 1336 Burger 🍔 and the Chicken Sandwich 🍗.

The 1336 Burger was the one we had to try just because of the name. It’s a fitting signature for a restaurant located at 1336 S. Staples, and a great introduction to what Black Lamb is bringing to Corpus Christi. The Chicken Sandwich gave us another look at the lunch side of the concept and made for the perfect matchup: burger vs. chicken sandwich. Which one are you taking? 👀

But lunch is only the beginning. Black Lamb Chef Table is built around a much more intimate fine-dining experience from Chef/Owner Thomas Mandzik. Their Chef Table concept is reservation-only, with a limited number of guests and a multi-course menu designed around seasonality, technique and presentation.

And mark your calendars: September 18 is when they’re planning to kick things up another level with their 12-course dinner tasting menu. 👨‍🍳🍷 We’re definitely interested to see what Chef Thomas does when the full experience gets underway.

Corpus Christi’s food scene keeps growing, and we love seeing concepts like this bring something different to the city. ❤️

🥐☕ We found another Corpus Christi spot that deserves some attention! This time Date Night Eats stopped by FIKA, and if you love a good pastry and savory brunch combination, this one’s for you. 👀

First up was the Pumpkin Churro Danish 🎃🤤 — flaky, sweet, and packed with those warm pumpkin and cinnamon flavors that immediately give you fall vibes. The churro-inspired touch made this one stand out from your typical pastry and definitely had us going back for another bite.

Then we switched things up with the Bacon, Ham & Italian Sausage Quiche. 🥓🍳 This thing was loaded! You get the savory combination of all three meats with the rich, creamy egg filling and buttery crust. It’s hearty enough to balance out something sweet and made the perfect pairing with the danish.

Sweet on one side, savory on the other — exactly how we like to do it. 😂❤️

One thing about Dat Night Eats is we never call the restaurant to let them know we are going. We never ask for anything free because we know how hard it is to run a food service operation and how impactful good exposure can be for a restaurant. We never bad mouth or intentionally make the establishment look bad. We simply showcase what’s given to us and show costs so others can know what they are going for. We love doing what we do and showing Corpus what we have to offer in our own city! 🌴🔥 Date Night Eats made our way out to North Padre Island to check out Costa Sur Wok & Ceviche Bar, and this place is bringing some seriously unique flavors to the island!

We tried the Lobster Roll and Pork Belly Steam Buns, and both gave us something completely different. 👀

🦞 The Lobster Roll was loaded with lobster and packed with fresh, bright flavor. It’s the kind of dish that just feels right when you’re eating near the coast — especially with that laid-back island atmosphere.

But those Pork Belly Steam Buns… 🤤🔥 Soft, pillowy buns wrapped around rich, savory pork belly with a combination of flavors and textures that made these one of our favorite bites of the visit. Definitely don’t skip them!

That’s what we love about Costa Sur — the menu isn’t afraid to mix things up. You can come in expecting seafood and end up discovering something completely different that steals the show.

🍜🥖 If you’re craving Vietnamese comfort food in Corpus Christi, Pho 88 needs to be on your radar!

We stopped by and went straight for two classics — the Pho and Bánh Mì — and this combination makes for one seriously satisfying meal. 🤤

The Pho was the star of the table. A hot bowl of flavorful broth loaded with noodles, herbs, and all the fresh toppings makes it the kind of meal that just hits the spot. Add a little lime, jalapeño, and your favorite sauces and make it exactly how you like it. 🍜🔥

Then there’s the Bánh Mì 🥖 — that combination of savory filling, fresh vegetables, herbs, and bread gives you so many different textures and flavors in every bite. It’s a great pairing with the pho, but honestly, we’d come back for the sandwich by itself!

If you’ve been looking for another Vietnamese spot to try around Corpus Christi, Pho 88 is definitely worth adding to your list. 🇻🇳❤️

🥞🍳 California food adventures continue! This time we stopped by The Breakfast Club in San Jose, and this is definitely a spot for anyone who believes breakfast should be BIG. 🤤

The menu is loaded with over-the-top breakfast and brunch favorites, from pancakes and French toast to hearty egg dishes and savory plates. The portions are generous, the presentation gets your attention, and there are enough options that choosing what to order might be the hardest part. 👀

What really makes The Breakfast Club a fun stop is the whole experience. It’s lively, casual, and exactly the kind of place where you show up hungry, order way too much food, and somehow still start looking at what everyone else ordered. 😂

🍕🍺 If you’ve been in Corpus Christi for a while, chances are you’ve heard of B & J’s Brew Pub — and there’s a reason this local spot has built such a loyal following!

We stopped in for a Date Night Eats visit, and this is the kind of place that keeps things casual, fun, and all about good food. The pizza is definitely a highlight, with plenty of toppings, lots of cheese, and that satisfying bite that pairs perfectly with a cold beer. 🍕🔥

And with a great selection of craft beer, it’s easy to find something new to try with your meal. Grab a pizza for the table, order a couple of beers, and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid Corpus Christi date night. 🍻

What we really enjoy is the laid-back local vibe. It doesn’t feel like a chain or something trying too hard — it feels like Corpus Christi.

🌶️🥢 If you’re looking to switch up your usual date night in Corpus Christi, BKK Thai Kitchen + Bar is definitely one to put on the list!

BKK brings together bold Thai flavors, beautiful presentation, and a modern atmosphere that makes it feel like more than just grabbing dinner. From sweet and savory to spicy and tangy, there’s a ton of flavor happening across the menu. 🤤🔥

What we really like about BKK is that it works for just about any kind of night out. You can stop in for a casual meal, grab some cocktails with friends, or make it a full date night and order several dishes to share. 🍹❤️

And if you’re new to Thai food, don’t be afraid to branch out from what you normally order. This is the kind of place where trying a few different dishes and passing everything around the table makes the experience even better.

Good food, great atmosphere, and something a little different from the everyday dinner routine. BKK Thai Kitchen + Bar is absolutely worth checking out in Corpus Christi!

🥩🔥 We’re always looking for a great date night spot in Corpus Christi, and Roasted Clove gave us one worth talking about!

We went straight for the Filet Steak and the Ancho Glazed Pork Chop, and these were two completely different dishes that each brought something special to the table. 👀

The filet was cooked beautifully, tender, and full of that rich steakhouse flavor you want when you order a good cut of beef. Simple, satisfying, and definitely a solid choice for the steak lover at the table. 🥩

But that Ancho Glazed Pork Chop deserves some attention! 🌶️ The ancho glaze brought a slightly sweet, savory kick that worked incredibly well with the pork. It’s the kind of dish that stands out and gives you something a little different from the usual steakhouse order.

Add in the intimate atmosphere, and Roasted Clove makes for a great Corpus Christi date night when you’re in the mood to slow down and enjoy a nice dinner together. ❤️🍷
