Fenwick Island Social 🌿
Word on the local grapevine was that Fenwick Island Social is the new spot to know—so last night we put it to the test.

The second you walk in, you’ll notice the bright, welcoming aesthetic… and honestly, the people were just as inviting. We ended up chatting with other patrons at the bar who happily offered recommendations and mini-reviews of what they’d tried (always my favorite kind of “menu research”).

We weren’t starving, so we went with the smoked chicken + four-bone pork rib combo. For $34, it’s a solid deal: half a chicken and four big, meaty ribs, plus your choice of sides. They also let you pick your sauces—so we sampled FIS Mild, Sweet Bourbon, and Carolina Pig. All were good, but Sweet Bourbon was the clear winner.

The chicken was very smoky (which I’m sure most people will love). The ribs were the star for me—huge and super satisfying. We chose coleslaw and baked beans for sides and both were spot-on… but let me tell you: the hush puppies stole the show. Big, hot, super crispy—honestly, I’d go back just for those.

Next on my list: the woman next to me ordered a grilled Caesar that looked fantastic, and I’m definitely circling back for the pulled pork BBQ. They also run nightly $16 specials (like Meatloaf Monday) and every one I heard mentioned around the bar got glowing reviews.

Bottom line: We’ll be back.

Catch 54 is my go-to when the fish craving hits — and this visit proved why. 🐟✨

I ordered their special fish board: cornmeal-breaded catfish over potatoes bravas (Spanish-style tapas). The potatoes were a little smaller than the usual bravas, but the flavors were all there. Storm ⛈️ went with the crispy popcorn scallop bowl — tender young scallops on sticky rice with a crunchy cabbage salad and a bunch of yummy sauces. We swapped plates halfway through and honestly… I still can’t pick a winner.

Best part? A bar-neighbor pro tip: he always orders the mussels and pays a couple bucks extra to have them served over linguine. Genius. That broth is the best part, and this way none of it goes to waste. Definitely doing that next time.

If you’re not doing Taco Thursday at Shotti’s Point, you’re doing Thursday wrong.

Shotti’s Point in Ocean City 🌮🍤🍟

My girlfriends and I kept it simple with a fun Thursday night out at Shotti’s Point and took full advantage of their Taco Thursday special — $10 for three tacos. Yes, please.

We ordered a mix to share:
• El Guapo Skirt Steak Tacos
• Tsunami Tuna Tacos
• So Cal Blackened Shrimp Tacos

I went straight for the steak tacos. They were exactly how I like them — and in my opinion, steak tacos only belong on a corn tortilla. The steak was tender, flavorful, and easy to bite. The spices were nicely balanced by a sprinkle of goat cheese and my favorite herb, cilantro. I traded one for a tuna taco, and again the bite was perfect: beautiful, pink, fresh tuna topped with seaweed salad and a plum sauce that gave you a great mix of flavors in every bite.

I didn’t get to try the shrimp taco, but was told the flavors were great with a heat that slowly built up by the time you got to your third one. 🔥

Before tacos, we started with the Rhino Chasers – as you can see, a huge pile of fries for $14. They come drizzled with balsamic, plus salt, garlic, Parmesan, and thyme, with a garlic aioli on the side. My critique: they were just too big a portion (not always a bad problem), and I wasn’t a huge fan of the balsamic on fries. Next time I’d ask for no balsamic — but that garlic aioli was yum.

We also shared the buffalo shrimp appetizer, which was really unique and very good. Instead of the usual fried buffalo shrimp, these are steamed shrimp in a buffalo-style broth. Super tasty – we all agreed we could’ve easily done two orders of those.

Good drinks, great food, and a fantastic value. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their nightly specials.

Vista Rooftop Bar
We stopped in for Happy Hour (4–6) and it did not disappoint. Storm ⛈️ and I brought four friends — the perfect number to sample most of the happy hour menu!

We started with the Meunster Grilled Cheese which was really more of a ham sandwich, but delicious nonetheless — melty, tangy, with pickled jalapeños and chipotle mayo. It came with fries that were hands-down the best in town — super-crispy shoestring style.

The Salmon Wontons looked beautiful but missed the mark — the crispy wonton and wasabi cream outshined the salmon. Among the rest of the table: Fish & Chips, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, House Burger, and the Bastontini (aged mozzarella, house-breaded and fried with red sauce).

Highlights? Best burger in town. Best fries in town. Best-looking fish & chips I’ve seen in a long time. My foodie friends confirmed it was as good as it looked.

☀️ Great spot, great views, and great company. We’ll be back for the fries alone!
