It doesn’t matter; I cry every time I hold our first blooms of lisianthus. 😭😭 I’m still shocked that these flowers actually grow. For us. 😳 Like, how are we able to grow such beauty?!🤯⁣⁣⁣

Flower farming is such a rewarding business, but it’s definitely one that’s built on intention, patience, and a whole lot of work. 💪🏻⁣

People often ask me for tips on starting a flower farm because it looks so beautiful (and if you’ve visited us, you know it is!). But like any small business, it also takes a significant investment of time, labor, and resources. ⁣
⁣
We buy high quality seeds, roots, tubers, bulbs, corms, and flowers that are specifically bred for flower farming. This is to make sure our customers can get long stems, high petal counts, (some) disease resistant stems, flowers all season, extended vase life, and unique flowers you won’t find in a store!☺️ ⁣⁣⁣

So if you find yourself picking up a bouquet and asking yourself, “What is this flower?!?”, just know that your local flower farmer has gone GREAT lengths to bring you something special! ⁣

If you’ve been waiting for the cooler weather, today is your day. Want another You Pick secret? When you come in the middle of the week, all the flowers have new, fresh blooms on them after being picked over the weekend!😉 We also have bouquets in the Roadside stand, including some dahlia bundles!

Yesterday, we had people in the field picking flowers for themselves, for the memorial service for a loved one, and for a baby shower. Life is full of emotions and we are so glad that our flowers can comfort those in need and bring joy to the celebrations of life.⁣
