Join me on Sunday, June 21st, 2026 from 11-4pm in a hands on poultry processing workshop!
Learn how to use the Whatcom Conservation Districts rental equipment and how to raise and process your own meat birds as a homesteader or small/micro farmer.
I'm Kaisha, the owner of Hedgerow Willows flock & farm and professional poultry processor for 10 years, Urban homesteader for 15, and microfarmer for the last six. I have a passion for teaching others and encouraging others to grow right where they're planted, and this workshop helps those who are ready to begin growing their own meat birds in the PNW get started.
There's definitely a bottleneck for the small micro farmer and or homesteader between growing the birds and the dirty work of processing them. Whether being squeamish about killing, or just not liking the process, there's not many people out there who are processing 10 to 25 birds for the homesteader and small farmer. If you want to grow your own meat, I think it's a great idea to know how to process on your own so you can grow the best quality in your own backyard.
We'll talk about feed, challenges, brooding, and I'll walk you through the process of harvesting your birds from start to finish. We will kill birds, pluck them, eviscerate them, and package them.
You're welcome to be an observer or participate after in the process from start to finish after signing a waiver.
If you'd like to sign up for our poultry processing workshop. It's just $25! You are welcome to purchase one of the fresh processed birds for $6 a pound at the workshop.
I look forward to seeing you there and sharing my knowledge and skills to encourage you to continue another facet of your homestead journey.
Space is limited! Sign up today
