A HUGE THANK YOU to Bonnie and Doug Dontje for donating the new shed for the Blessing Box and to Tina Honeycutt for all of your hard work in assembling it! It won’t be long before it’s finished and fully stocked!

Another piece of EXCITING NEWS- As it gets finished we will be leaving it up next to the building through the winter which means I will be able to stick a mini fridge that I have inside of the shed to keep items that need to be refrigerated! I am also looking into a small chest freezer to accommodate frozen meat and other frozen foods!

Make sure to follow for the updates as to when the new Blessing box will be opened!

Good news the new blessing box shed has arrived, but unfortunately I haven’t had the time to put it together so if anyone in the community has the time/tools/ and skills to put it together, I would really appreciate it! PM me if you are able to help 💚 Even better news is that I have a lead on a small refrigerator that I should be able to stick in the new shed as well for cold things!!! I will keep you up to date on the progress. Here is what’s available today 7/9.

Good morning! I just received some very exciting news and wanted to share, The Blessing Box will be getting an upgrade!!! An amazing community member just purchased this shed for us from Amazon and it will be here in the next week or so! I may need some help with assembly and setting it so keep your eyes open for that post. We are so excited to have this upgrade coming!

Hello all I wanted to reach out and let you know that I have started working on adding some vegetable gardens so that come harvest time we will have some fresh veggies and possibly fruit available for those in need!

If anyone wants to donate time, materials, raised beds, or gardening help in general once things get growing, I would be more than happy to have you!

Organized the box a little bit today. We’ve had a bunch of people stop by this week both in need and to donate. We are reminded just how thankful we are for our community! I am hoping to add a few more shelves in the upcoming weeks. We are still looking for a better long term replacement for the box but we are so grateful for those who have stepped up to help make the necessary repairs to this one!

Hello friends, I’ve been a bit behind with life this past winter but I wanted to reach out about a few messages that I have received. The box is in rough shape from the very wet winter. When I built the box I did so with the materials that I had on hand knowing it would need to be replaced or repaired in a few years. Unfortunately that time is now. Between the roof leaking and the base starting to fall apart it is in need of repair or replacement at this point. Currently I don’t have the extra funds to purchase something better so I am asking for a little help. If anyone has something that they are willing to donate to either replace the current box or build a new one I would deeply appreciate it. I really enjoy having this available for the community and want to continue but definitely need to come up with a solution so that the donations are not getting ruined.

Merry Christmas from us to you and your family! The box has been getting so much use lately and it’s been warming my heart to know that those in need are able to get things to help! This is what we had in the box as of this morning for anyone needing food. ❤️

Good morning! I just went out to straighten up the box and add in an amazing donation of feminine products, combs, and hats! Thank you so much to everyone in the community who continues to donate and share! We’ve definitely had an uptick in those in need stopping by and I’m sure that they are all just as grateful as me that we continue to receive the support and awareness throughout the community! Here is a rough copy of the wishlist that I’ve been creating on Amazon for those of you who have asked to donate. I do have the shipping address set so anything ordered will be delivered the shop for me to stick in the box. I’ve also added a few refrigerators that I think might work along with a “greenhouse” style shed that I believe could work better.

I’m also thinking about moving the box up to the building for the winter to give it more cover and to keep it more accessible as we have the driveway plowed. I fear that now that it is being used more, on bad snow days we won’t be able to have it plowed out as well to be used. Last year we tried to keep it plowed out but it may be easier to access at the building. If you have thoughts on this please let me know!

Happy Thanksgiving, well a day early!!!! 🦃
While I wanted to stay home with my boys this morning, I did have to wrap up some work for our small businesses today before the holidays but I’m so grateful that I did! I didn’t make it out to grab a picture today like I had planned, but it was for the best reason!!! We had so many people stop to drop things off and others stop as they were in need. The the amount of love and pride that I felt for our community today was at an all time high, and I am beyond grateful that today I got to experience the joy and happiness that comes with hearing a car stopping by the box many times over! Thank you all so much!!!

On a side note I have been in contact with a few people who are trying to make it possible to bring a refrigerator over for meat and meal donations. I’m also looking into what would need to be done to start a nonprofit organization for this box as I have had generous offers for money donations to buy a better shed or donations for the box. At this time I’m a little uncomfortable taking money or gift cards towards supplies because I’m local mom of 4 who also runs small businesses, and a farm and I can see myself misplacing a gift card accidentally, but I am working on an Amazon wishlist that I can keep updated for the things that can be delivered to the shop for me to place in the box.
