Scenes like this tend to stop traffic around here. I can only imagine what the driver is thinking. "Why is there a cow on a leash?" , " Why are kids rolling around in the grass with a puppy/goat/lamb?" These scenes are normal for us.. See we don't give our kids cellphones, we don't buy them expensive toys, we buy them their animals. Animals teach them responsibility, gratitude and unfortunately, hard life lessons. It's moments like this that keep Curtis and I fighting for our small farm. Fighting when the milk plant says we're "inconvenient" , fighting when it costs us over $100 a day to do field work, and fighting against mother nature herself!! Because this lifestyle builds amazing human beings, and THAT is something worth fighting for!
