Finally! My kind of weather!

Because of the drought we are forced to sell the majority of our herd. This past week we saw our creeks dry up completely. We now only have ponds for the cattle and they are drying up as well. Our hay yield this year was 10% of normal. Because of this we have already sold off some of the herd. This year has been tough. It seems every time it looks like rain we get missed. Just because it rained at your house, it didn’t rain everywhere. Even with the rain in the forecast this week, it’s not enough to fix the situation. Pray for rain, and pray for the farmers.

It’s been 25 years, but it still seems like yesterday to me. As a former firefighter, I mourn my 343 brothers that died that day. I pray for their families and the families of the 2,634 other people that died that day. I remember watching people jump from the top floors of the towers. I remember the panic in the streets when they collapsed. I remember the hero’s of flight 93 that fought back with nothing more than a service cart to arm themselves with. I remember civilians pulling injured people out of the pentagon. I remember seeing flags on every corner in the days and months afterwards. I remember the unity we all had as a country. I remember the vow we took in the days after to NEVER FORGET! I have not forgotten, I hope you haven’t. LET’S ROLL!

Lots of wind and lightning last night but nary a drop of rain. Hope we have better luck over the next couple days. Praying for rain.⛈️
