When we lived in the cities we didn’t want dandelions in our yard. Here on the farm we embrace them for the bee’s and to make roasted dandelion root tea.

We received a sustainable farming grant from our local SFA chapter. We are grateful for this as it helps us to keep our flock and farm healthy. With the grant we have purchased fencing. This electric fence keeps our sheep safe on pasture and we are able to rotate them every 2 days. This will keep their parasite load down. Plus they really enjoy the fresh grass. In return they help fertilize and rejuvenate the soil. The cows and chickens will take their turn as well.

Our first lambing season has come to a close. Today the last lamb was born and is beautiful.

Finlayson farmers market first one of the season. Always nice to meet and see more friends in the community!

Vet visit for herd check yesterday. All is well. Last night we trimmed hooves and the sheep went onto green pasture today. It’s a beautiful sight to see.

Here are the most recent additions. Two more mousers for the farm. Do not worry we are all giving them a lot of love!!
