Wittler Enterprises, Inc. dba American Buffalo Company Wittler Enterprises/ AMerican Buffalo Company was founded by brothers Tom and Ben and Ben's wife Mary Wittler to raise all natural buffalo.

o Wittler Enterprises- Founded in the fall of 2003, Ben answered an ad to buy some buffalo and after getting the OK from Mary, he bought just a few to start and the herd has grown from there. What started as a fascinating hobby has grown into a labor of love and an entrepreneurial opportunity for the Wittlers. Not only has the buffalo meat provided a fun way to support a business, it also provided

a healthy alternative to keep the family healthy. Now it is a growing, thriving business that is seeking to expand and grow into new opportunities. o Ben- Grew up on a conventional farm near Carroll, Nebraska in the northeastern part or the state. He went to college at Northeast Community College, Southeast Community College, Wayne State, and UNL. He has his degree in accounting, but has studied math, biology, chemistry, pre-med and business management. He works for Ayres and Ayres doing HR management, safety compliance, and DOT compliance. At some point he’d like to be able to work with the buffalo full time. o Mary- Grew up in Lincoln and East High School and joined Air Guard at seventeen. She applied for and got an AGR, since left the military for civilian life. She and Ben have four children, and Mary spends the summers raising their children. Since leaving the military, Mary has realized the importance of healthier living and has learned much about complimentary medicine and nutrition and how buffalo meat fits into the healthy lifestyle she wants for her and her family.
