Our third year parents have hatched three babies this year, but one is camera shy. So here are two with mother. About one month old now and feeding themselves. Parents have been very busy finding food. The storms have been terrible, but the nest has survived a near miss by a small tornado a few nights ago. We and Judi have lots of trees down, but not the big pines.

The baby eagles are now tall enough to be seen from grade. I expect they are about two weeks old.

We have a single stall available. Seeking dressage and trail riders to enjoy the six miles of trails, indoor, outdoors arenas, polo field etc. Dressage lessons available three days a week. Polo lessons also available from the Madison Polo Club. Email [email protected] if interested.

To date we have survived the cold, but for the first time in 30 years kept horses in yesterday with 40 below chill factor. Nice 12 below this morning, feels almost warm! The barn heat is invaluable when we get this kind of weather.
I suspect the eagles headed up to the WI River for the cold period. The air around the dam is warmer due to the water flow and the fish are plentiful. As they mated three weeks ago, we should see egg laying shortly upon their return.

Our pair of eagles have been preparing the nest for eggs with pine boughs. They tear at b ranches in the white pines and get clumps of the long soft needles. I also got to see them mate again two weeks ago. I expect we will see egg activity in a couple of weeks.

Our pair of eagles has returned, after multiple visits in the late summer. They are in mating time, so additions to the nest and together time is occuring.
