Fellow Beekeepers:

On October 7, 2022 – the North Dakota beekeepers Assn. will hold it’s annual conference.

We will meet at Bismarck Holiday Inn, 3903 N. State Street 701.751.8240
www.holidayinn.com Watch for early registration information. The program is top notch.

Scheduled:
Danielle Downey, Executive Director of Project Apis m.
Samantha Brunner, N.D. State Bee Inspector
Mel Machado, Member, Almond Board of California & Blue Diamond Grower Relations
Elizabeth Hill, U.S.D.A. Pollinator Coordinator – Office of the Chief Scientist
Marla Spivak, Distinguished Professor, University of Minnesota
Commissioner Doug Goehring, N.D. Department of Agriculture

The conference is a one-day event; packed with information we can apply to our operations.

The Beekeepers Assn. wants to improve member communications. The beekeepers email list held by the Department is not available to the Assn. We have over 400 registered beekeepers in North Dakota. North Dakota today is host to over 800,000 beehives; more bees than North Dakotians for the first time ever! Postage for this newsletter alone cost $232.00.
Please share your email address with our Secretary, Megan Mahoney [email protected]. The Assn. does not need anything besides your name and email.

An example of why we need your email address. Garrett Slater, a Ph.D. candidate [and one of our own – Tech Team – NDSU Grad – Beekeeper] is researching honeybee drones. His presentation is at Western Apiary Society – July 18, 2022. With an email list, we could share relevant information. We promise: No Spam.

Due to the circumstances this year with COVID, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the NDBA meeting originally scheduled for October. We will begin to work on planning for next year though, with hopes for a much better year.
