Today my parents came over to plant the “family fig tree”…everyone in the family plants a fig tree at their forever house and when they move either the tree comes or a piece is propagated and comes! We knew all the other places we’ve lived were not forever but this place feels like home!

We also plants more blueberry bushes and pulled some weeds!

The Littlest Farmhand also helped put the broiler chicks in the brooder!

Momma and babies made their way outside now that everyone is big enough and it wasn’t pouring and 50 degrees outside!

Lastly all the animals got snuggles by my parents, especially baby horse by my mom and Waffle kept following my dad around the field looking for scratches!

Turned out to be a good day!

Although we are always happy to have another baby on the farm, this was an unplanned breeding and she was accidentally bred by the previous owner to a bull much bigger than her which will most likely lead to a very difficult delivery.

We are hoping for a planned c-section to ensure the health and safety of both momma and baby!

Here’s to praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy and delivery!

Split the field for rotation and Baby Horse made sure to assist with the post installation and then perform an initial inspection prior to pulling tension.

Luckily we passed the inspection! 😂❤️🐴

Girls gone wild this morning!

Waffle joined the herd in the big pasture after her 2 week quarantine!

It’s a girls day at Grey Market Farm! Nothing like chilling in the field while the girls munch on their dinner! Waffles is still quarantined but will have her vet check next week and then hopefully join the other girls in the big field!

Nothing beats this long and tiring life/job! This is the work I choose after the work that pays the bills!

Grey Market Farm is proud to introduce Waffle!
This fluffy girl is a 3 year old British White Heifer that we were lucky to purchase from a sweet family that needed to downsize their animals!

Waffle comes from a mixed herd of cows and a horse which will hopefully make her transition smooth. A huge selling point for us as that she was loved on regularly by friends and the whole family to include two little boys who loved to hug and sit on her! We hope that she will settle in nicely and live and long happy life with us!

The littlest farm hand has already hugged and snuggled her, and this morning she got her first brushing! How lucky we are to have a cow this friendly from the start!
