Why rotis taste different at mom’s home!!!

Ever noticed this? 🌾

You make rotis here…
and then you eat rotis at your mom’s home in India…

and somehow, they just feel different.

Softer.
Lighter.
Easier to eat.

It’s not just nostalgia.

Sometimes it’s the wheat.
Sometimes it’s how fresh the flour is.
Sometimes it’s less processing and more whole grain.

That familiar softness,
that easy-to-gulp feeling…

that’s exactly what I keep looking for 🤍

And honestly, Soft White reminds me of that.

Do you feel this too?

“Finding balance (my current routine)”

A small personal update 🌾

During my pregnancy,
I’ve been asked to be mindful of my wheat intake
due to gestational diabetes.

So lately, I’ve been making a simple shift —
mixing ragi or jowar with my wheat atta
for rotis, parathas, and bhakri.

One thing I’ve become more conscious of is this:

Refined flour (maida) feels easier to eat,
but it’s highly processed and lacks fiber.

With home-milled whole wheat + ragi,
you still get that comfort of roti,
but with more fiber and a more balanced feel.

It’s not about cutting things out completely —
it’s about adjusting thoughtfully 🤍

Food changes with us.
And this is what’s working for me right now.

“Less effort in the kitchen”

Something I noticed while using fresh atta 🌾

The dough just… comes together easier.

No extra kneading
No fighting with the dough
No guesswork

It feels smoother, more cooperative,
and a lot less effort overall.

Sometimes it’s not just about the final roti —
it’s about how easy the whole process feels 🤍

Have you ever noticed this difference?

“Most of you said soft rotis…”

Loved reading your responses 🤍

And most of you said — you prefer soft rotis

That’s exactly where the difference starts 🌾

The type of wheat you use
directly affects how your rotis turn out.

With Soft White wheat, the dough feels smoother
and rotis tend to come out softer and lighter

Not chewy. Not heavy.
Just simple, everyday softness.

If that’s your style,
this might be worth trying 🤍

“Your roti style”

Every home has its own roti style 🌾

Soft & thin
Thick & hearty
With ghee
Without ghee

There’s no right or wrong —
just what you grew up loving.

Tell me yours 🤍
How do you like your rotis?

Took a small pause here 🌾

But nothing really changed behind the scenes…

Still milling fresh
Still keeping it simple
Still focusing on quality over quantity

Quick update from our kitchen 🌾

Right now,
we have Soft White wheat atta available — freshly milled in small batches.

Hard White and Emmer
are currently out of stock.

This is the nature of working with
limited, carefully sourced grains —
we only mill what we have fresh.

If you’ve been curious to try,
Soft White is a beautiful place to start 🤍

This reminded me of home

Tried Soft White wheat for parathas and bhakri this week 🌾

And honestly…
it took me back.

Not the chewy, slightly sticky texture
that we’ve gotten used to here.

But that soft, light, easy-to-eat roti, the kind you don’t even notice finishing.

The kind that feels familiar.
Comforting. Effortless.

The kind I remember from home 🤍

It’s a small difference,
but once you feel it… it stays with you.
