Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms behind the early mornings, late-night checks, endless loads of laundry, and every mile traveled chasing dreams.

From helping feed lambs to calming nerves before show day, moms are the backbone of this industry. Their sacrifices, support, and love never go unnoticed.

Today we celebrate the show moms, farm moms, grandmas, and every woman who helps make this lifestyle possible. Thank you for everything you do for your families and these kids.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Stonestreet Club Lambs! 🐑❤️

We saw a post the other day that said a barn sees more prayers than a pew ever will and the more we thought about that, the more true it felt.

We’ve said our fair share of prayers in our barn. During lambing a lot of prayers are said, but also in the quiet, everyday moments while feeding, when something heavy is on our hearts and a prayer just needs to be said.

FEEDING QUESTIONS…WE GET THEM ALL THE TIME 👇

One of the most common questions we get is: “How much should I be feeding my lamb?”

Our general recommendation is 3–4% of your lamb’s body weight per day.

So how do you actually figure that out in pounds?

➡️ First, you need to weigh your lamb (or at least have a good estimate)
➡️ Then, multiply their weight by 0.03–0.04

Example:
• 100 lb lamb × 0.03 = 3 lbs/day
• 100 lb lamb × 0.04 = 4 lbs/day

That means a 100 lb lamb should be eating between 3–4 pounds of feed per day.

👉 We recommend splitting that total into at least two feedings per day (morning & evening) to keep intake consistent and support better digestion.

👉 Once you hit your goal/target weight, you may need to back the percentage down to around 2% of body weight to help maintain and fine-tune. Weigh your lamb every two weeks or at least once a month and adjust as needed.

👉 Always feed hay after grain, we can't say this enough. Hay is needed to keep the rumen functioning properly.

⚠️ Remember:
Every lamb is different. Appetite, metabolism, and goals (gain vs. hold) all play a role.

If you ever have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help you get the most out of your project.

“Hope shines even in the darkest moments.”

This little lamb is proof of the above quote. His mom was carrying triplets, and after a long, hard struggle we finally got the first two out, but unfortunately they were already gone.

We expected the same outcome for this little guy, but by some miracle, he started shaking his head and came to life right in front of us.

A reminder that sometimes, even in the toughest moments, there’s always hope.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. ~Robert Brault
