It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Vanntown Market will be closing at the end of June.
After much thought and discussion, our family has decided that this is the right decision for us in this season of life. As many of you know, Chris’s work has become increasingly demanding and often requires him to be out of town for extended periods. At the same time, I have been taking on more hours in my career as an occupational therapist. Between our careers, the restaurant, and raising our two young daughters, we’ve reached a point where we simply cannot give everything the attention it deserves.
We want to be very clear: this decision is not the result of failure. In fact, we are incredibly proud of what we have built here. From the beginning, our goal was to create a place where our community could gather, enjoy quality food, and support local products whenever possible. We feel that we accomplished those goals and have been blessed with a loyal customer base and tremendous community support along the way.
We are also grateful for our staff, both past and present, who helped serve our customers and keep things running throughout the past year. Their efforts allowed us to continue operating while balancing the many demands of work and family life.
Most importantly, we want to thank each and every customer who chose to spend their time and money with us. Whether you stopped in once or became a regular, you played a role in making Vanntown Market what it became. The friendships, conversations, and sense of community that developed here are what we will remember most.
We genuinely believe there is still great potential in this location and concept. For anyone who has ever dreamed of owning a restaurant, this could be an incredible opportunity. Our equipment, furnishings, and established customer base provide a strong foundation for someone looking to continue serving this community. While any future tenant decisions will ultimately be made by the building owner, we would be happy to point interested individuals in the right direction.
Thursday and Friday, we’d love for you to stop by, share a meal with us, and help us finish this chapter on a high note.
