Lisa, a native of Minnesota, moved to Mississippi with Teach for America in 2011 where she taught in Hazelhurst and Utica public schools. After teaching, she held various positions in creative, nonprofit, and communications fields. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design and a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership.
Soon after their first son, Anthony, was born in 2020, Lisa and her husband, Linden, relocated from Fondren in Jackson to Flora. The new property has six acres of potential for homesteading and outdoor play for their children. It was there that they started Pivot Point Farm. They became a family of four in 2023 when their son, Arden, was born.
Lisa began beekeeping in 2022 and is embarking on her fourth year. As of Easter weekend, she has 11 hives. Lisa says she’s learned so much from and about these special creatures. She’s immensely thankful to all the experienced beekeepers who have generously shared their valuable advice over the past few years.
