Okayyyy… so we have a LOT of sourdough discard over here. 😂🤎

And instead of throwing all that goodness away, we’re turning it into COOKIES! 🍪🙌

Sourdough discard can be used for SO many delicious things, and cookies are definitely one of my favorites. They’re soft, chewy, and the perfect little treat!

Hi friends! 💛

I wanted to take a little time to explain my absence lately—not just from posting, but from taking orders as well.

As someone who has struggled with mental health and was diagnosed with ADHD about 2 months ago at 31, I’ve learned that sometimes things can become a little too loud and chaotic in my head. And I want you to know that if you struggle with your mental health too, you are not alone. So many of us do, and it can look completely different from person to person.

I started this little micro-bakery as a last-ditch effort to find something that made me feel like more than just “Momma”—something that made me feel like Jess again.

It hasn’t taken away my role as a mom or a wife, or the mental load that comes along with both. But it has given me something that I desperately needed: a place to unwind and just be.

When I’m mixing dough, folding it, coiling it, shaping it…my mind gets quiet.

And for someone with two toddlers under 4 and ADHD, finding even a little bit of quiet in my brain is something I’ve learned to treasure. Because there really isn’t much quiet in my day. 😂

I’m not sharing all of this to tell my life story or ask for sympathy. I’m sharing it because there is a real person behind the bread, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and all the other things my brain decides might taste good. 😂

And sometimes, that person gets overwhelmed.

Sometimes my brain gets too chaotic to want to make bread. Sometimes it’s too much to even think about taking pictures, making a post, or opening orders.

But I want you to know that I still love this.

I love making these things. I love hearing that you enjoyed something I made. And I genuinely love being able to show people a little bit of love through my baking.

I’m finding my footing, and I’m learning that I have to go slowly. Because when I try to do too much, too fast, I tend to burn myself out and quit—and I don’t want to do that with something that has become so meaningful to me.

So, thank you. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has ordered from me, shared my posts, encouraged me, supported my little business, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines. It means more to me than you probably realize.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Double E Farmstand, for my baking, and for me.

You are not alone.

You are doing a great job, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
