Kegged both sours today. The Blueberry finished at 4.9% abv and the Mango 4.7%. Both smell amazing and are very subtle with the tartness and the fruit profile. The perfect tailgating beverage if it lasts thru the swimming season. 🫐 🥭 🍺 🏈 🏊🏼

Wayyyyy back on May 22,2023 I brewed my first sour beer. The fellow brewer (credit James Baldwin) that shared his recipe, also shared that when he split his batch and aged half for one year that it tasted so good that he simply named it DELICIOUS SOUR. 1+ year later after aging my entire 10 Gallon batch,I have split to finish with different fruit. One with Mangos and the other with Blueberries. Should be ready just in time for tailgate season. Cheers and Who Dey. 🍻 🥭 🫐 🐅 🏈

So I got a new friend in the brewing world and we swapped some recipes recently. I’m giving his sour a shot and taking a recommendation as an opportunity for creativity.

Making a 10 gallon batch and then splitting into two different primary containers. Eventually I will be adding two different fruit combos at the finishing stage. 1st will be Cherry and Raspberry……the 2nd will be Blueberries.

Man I’m excited to brew my first batch of 2023 on Saturday………cheers! 🍺

This Sunday we will have a very unique brew day. The Father of the bride (me), the groom and the best man will be brewing a batch of Patrick (Irish Red Ale). This batch will be the wedding day beverage of the grooms bridal party and residing in the VIP room of the 20th Century. Cheers to getting older and marrying off your oldest daughter to a great kid and family. 🍻
