We have noticed that as long as we provide plenty of insulation and coverage from the wind our coops stay at a decent temperature. I am not against using products to heat your coops, but do it safely. Sweeter Heaters are our recommendation. We have 2 and absolutely will not use anything else 🥰

There are a lot of questions that get passed around by chicken keepers regarding the use of heaters in the winter. Here are the facts:
*Using flat panel heaters (that are designed to be inside the chicken coop) are a safe way to help keep your chickens warm in the winter.
*Used in combination with insulating the coop is optimal for those living in areas with cold winters. If the power were to go out, the insulation will help retain heat until the power comes back on.
*The use of heat LAMPS is a fire hazard and should not be used in chicken coops.
*Long term cold exposure (hours) is more stressful on a chicken's body than short term (minutes) exposure.
*Chickens are ancestors of jungle fowl who lived in a warm climate. Chickens, no matter the breed, do not thrive in cold weather and need protection.
****When anyone says they didn't heat their coop and their chickens 'got by' or 'made it through the winter' this is not justification that they are taking proper care of their them.

Thank you everyone for being patient, I will try my best to answer comments and messages as I’m available to do so and will do so in order of being received. I will add photos to this post of available birds as I take them.

This is a first come first served situation. I cannot hold anyone without at least a 25% deposit. And Local pick ups and C.A.S.H will be higher on my list. Given my current situation it’s easier for me to not have to 🚢 a ton of birds.

If 🚢 you are responsible for the box and shipping rates as well.

There are NO REFUNDS. Once the bird has a deposit or is in your possession I CANNOT take the animal back nor can I issue refunds. So please be sure you read descriptions and know what you’re getting. I cannot guarantee hens egg laying abilities either. Some of my hens are prolific and others aren’t. Being in a coop together I don’t always know who is who.

These are pet quality and breeder quality. Please do not ask me if I have show quality. I do not show and therefore cannot label any of my birds as show quality. I do my best to breed to SOP, but I will not guarantee a bird will win a show. Again, be aware to read descriptions.

They are not in condition. They are breeders, some are still molting, and summer was rough on us all. If they were separated and allowed to fill in they would look much different than they do currently so please look past some of it (i.e. crests may not be as full) if you need an example of the difference in a molting bird/breeder bird versus being allowed to condition out check out our post on cotton from a couple months ago.

They are priced for their quality. Just because I am having to sell my flock does not mean I won’t sell for what they deserve. I have worked very hard to curate amazing birds from amazing breeders and spent a lot of time breeding them to better the silkie lines. If you do not like the price, I apologize that it didn’t work out for you, but the price will not come down. TIA for understanding.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce I will be taking a long hiatus. The last 11 months have been trying for my family and I and we have experienced tremendous losses. I wish I could stay in this, but trying to maintain a farm and breeding program is not something I can achieve any more.

I will be posting what I have available. It will be first come first served. So be on the lookout.

Thank y'all for being some of the most amazing customers. I am so thankful I was able to get some of my birds into your hands this year.

Lots of Love to you all

I am so dang appreciative of each and every one of you. One of my beautiful customers who bought some chicks from me earlier this year gave me a set of eggs to hatch from my own lines since I lost 90% of my flock

And look who arrived 😍 I have one more hatching and a few more drying. I believe 7 total

So beyond thankful for y’all. 🩷🩷🩷
