Despite environmentalists’ worries, cattle don’t guzzle water or cause hunger—and can help fight climate change.

I have been blessed with the amazing oppurtunity as farm and estate manager of Highland Orchard Farm in Covesville Va. Farm currently thrives with Vineyards, apple orchard, grassfed cattle, flowing springs and creeks and as soon as I return sheep and goat. Wonderful people to work with here, I couldn't have asked for better employers. Beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and yes Joel Salatin does live just an hour away.

Luke Restaurant will be getting their goat on one more time from two nicely finished goats and a couple more animals I dropped off yesterday. Check them out at the Embassy Suites hotel downtown San Antonio.

I "Farmer Fred" as some call me, missed everyone to say my goodbyes last week which just happened to be the final market for us. I was coming back from a regrarian farm design course with Darren Doherty in Virginia. Learned quite a bit and had the oppurtunity to meet some of my wonderful new neighbors. Yes we will be in Virginia in a few weeks. I took a job position a while back as farm & estate manager of a beautiful grassfed livestock and orchards operation there. We will still be filling out orders for portions.

Will be at the NB farmers market this AM. Lots of Pork, Lamb (lots of chops), & Beef (lots of ribs). Probably our final Sat. Come prepared to help us empty these coolers! Your support of our family farm are much appreciated.

We are happy to share our current status with everyone. We will be taking our goat herd with us as well as selected sheep. The avenues for sales are ready and waiting in our new home. We have 3 pigs left for sale and 2 more at our processor. The rest have either been harvested or have gone to a pastured pork producer or homesteading farms. We are taking 3 with us to feel our freezers later! We have not sold our cattle yet but have one of the previous farms we visited during our travels coming out soon. Supposedly they will buy almost the whole herd if it works out. Most of the lamb that we are not taking will be going to a grassfed producer. There are still some finished animals left especially beef. If anyone is looking for livestock or meat please contact us asap and we just might be able to keep every single animal we own away from auctions and feedlots. Only a few more weeks left to purchase. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers.

Any people still interested in goat, lamb, beef or pork please contact us soon. No time to hesitate if you are seriously interested. Only a few more weeks for us here. Bear with me and I will get back to you ASAP. I have never traveled as much and recieved as many emails and phone calls as I have these last few mos. Thank you!

It's done, it's official, I have fully accepted and worked out the details for my new management position on a beatiful farm we visited a few weeks back. We have a lot to do but first I have to pack up because I'm heading to Jackson, Miss. tomorrow for a pastured pork production school with Allan Nation and Joel Salatin.
