Alpacas Day #2 The girlies (because the chickens are the “ladies” said in the Jerry Lewis voice (reference in the comments) spent the night, and then the day today, in the chicken run. We customized it for them, so it was all good. And probably the safest alternative from bear, other than the house (but don’t put that past me).
This morning, the chix were still in the coop, bitchin up a storm! They were not happy there were big THINGS in their run. I let them out to the yard to free range, and I thought it was forgotten.
Addison and Wyllow were fine, and sweet, and humming happily today. Just curious and looking at all of the new things. The gingers came to take a gander, and the girlies gandered right back. My friend Yvonne, neighbor Tracy, and nephew from DC Jake, all came for introductions. Jake hadn’t ever had a chicken encounter either, so that was fun.
As I was sitting by the coop and run, the chicken ladies marched right passed me on the way toward the run. When they got to the point where they could see in, they stretched out their necks, eyeing the enclosure VERY suspiciously, and started talking amongst themselves about the furry alien invasion. Cracked me up! I could almost understand the conversation.
Addison and Wyllow enjoyed way too many alpaca treats from the visitors, and the got a water hose leg spray down; alpacas love that. I mean, who doesn’t?!
For the record, no screeches of “Stranger Danger” and no spitting today. I call that a win.
