Hi, Floyd! I’m Leah Star, and I’m the new Farm Store Manager at Floyd EcoVillage. I’m lucky enough to be joining forces with the bright and wonderful EcoVillage Farm Manager, Allie Sun.
A little about me: I’m originally from Wisconsin, although I spent a large part of my adult life out West and in North Carolina. In 2022, I walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain and then spent some time as a nomad, traveling around Europe and Costa Rica, before somehow finding my way to Floyd. And I’m very glad I did.
For better or worse, I’m a writer by design, which means I spend a fair amount of my time distracting myself from writing. I’m motivated by beauty, creativity, good food, and connection—and I’m excited to bring all four of those things into the Farm Store, along with Allie’s beautiful and nutritious produce!
I’m also the person behind a budding vegan food business called High Vibe Provisions, so you can expect to see a little bit of my love for plant-based food and creative snacks making its way into the community soon.
My favorite quote right now is:

That feels like a pretty good guiding principle for this next chapter.
