Microplastics are on our minds... literally 🧠

They enter our bodies through the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the products we use every day.

Our bodies can likely clear some (through digestion, respiration, and waste), but we don’t yet know how long they stay or how to fully remove them.

Research is still evolving, but here’s why scientists think the brain may hold higher concentrations of microplastic:
🧬 The brain is fat-rich, and microplastics tend to accumulate in fatty tissue
🧠 The blood-brain barrier may make them harder to clear once they penetrate
🔬Smaller particles may cross into the brain more easily than we once thought

Team Blueland got on a bus at 7am with our friends at and went to the NY State Capitol to lobby for the Packaging Reduction Bill (PRRIA)— a bill that would make companies take more responsibility for the packaging waste they create.

Because for decades, the burden of plastic waste has been put on us as recycling, and it’s time companies did their part to reduce unnecessary plastic packaging before it become waste ♻️
