Gotta love the Irish!
You may be familiar with the "delicacy" that we crave and most of us have just the one time (a year). It doesn't come any simpler: an inexpensive piece of beef (salt-cured) with a side of potatoes and cabbage. That's it! And this isn't even an Irish national dish, as you may have been reminded from time to time. But here's the catch - on this day you get to drink green beer, indulge in green desserts (and other treats) to your heart's delight. And then there's the green rule- wear green to be Irish for the day or those leprechauns and the pot of gold may not be having YOU in mind! Ha! Is this what you are thinking of, or what you may be having for dinner tonight? Me too!!! Irish rock.....Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope your Valentine's Day was scrumptious in every way. After indulging yesterday, this may be the way to go for the next few days - a healthy salad... That is unless you are making it a weekend-long celebration. Then you may want to follow this with a decadent dessert!

Here's the 1 hour turkey recipe since some of you were wondering:
12 lb turkey - rub with butter; season with salt & pepper or your favorite turkey rub; stuff with celery, onion, carrots; add 2cups of water to the pan. Cook @ 500 degrees for an hour. Turn off the oven and cover and let rest for 4 hours. Easy enough. Bon appetite!
May the good things be yours in abundance throughout the coming year. HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!

Turkey in an hour? Really? That's what I call "turkey touchdown"! Hmmm, no 5-6 hours of basting and fussing?
So I am on a mission and that's MY new turkey recipe this year. And I have tried so many (and liked most) ways to prepare the big bird (!)- in a paper bag, deep fried, basted with just about everything.... So why not this method.
Anyone master the one-hour-turkey before?

All this talk about Thanksgiving made us wonder if you have a master plan for turkey day? Succulent turkey, luscious gravy, gourmet, traditional, or classic signature dishes that have passed the test of time. Or maybe cooking Thanksgiving dinner has you absolutely terrified and you are making reservations at your favorite restaurant? Either way, all this talk about food reminded us of one of our favorite food events: Folsom Lake Restaurant Week! And with so many great comments from our September event, we thought that we would set the date for 2013 earlier in the year. And we'd like to announce it ....soon. As a matter of fact, as soon as we toast in the New Year! So for now let's talk turkey. And count our blessings. And share a recipe or two....?
