The inflorescence of the Lagerstroemia indica, commonly known as the Crepe Myrtle, is quite elaborate. Most people just notice the bright crepe like petals that give the plant its name. But look closer and the anthers, filled with bright yellow pollen, are visible. They provide pollinators, particularly bees, with essential pollen and nectar.

Our White Ghost Cactus (Euphorbia lactea) is experiencing a little fasciation. Fasciation, also known as cresting, is a relatively rare condition of abnormal growth caused by genetic mutation.
