Sheep are prepping for a big day tomorrow-muscle ultrasound scanning! Some folks walk their sheep on treadmills, I just let my Texels eat grass to put on muscle.

Bo at 2 months old weighs 64 lbs eating only this pasture and mom's milk. Daily rate of gain since birth 0.875 lbs. These are 4 of my 6 Black Texels. Bo's grandma, his mom, and aunt (the other lamb here), "Big B***y Judy."

Halbur's Heavenly Hill #405. Sire Briar Lane Texels James Madison. He is a twin. He is only a little over 2 months old here...hunk 😍
He now resides at Hurley Sheep Farm in Iowa...I'm still feeling a little guilty for selling him before I got to use him here. I can't wait to his lambs at Kyle's.

Halbur's Heavenly Hill #197 Martha Jefferson. Sire Portland Prairie Thomas Jefferson. I do have a half brother of hers with 3/4 same genetics; he doesnt have her b***y, but he is a nice looking ram.
Raised on pasture! I honestly do not feed these Texel sheep grain once they get out to the pasture in the solar site where they live all grazing season, its all greens out there!
Martha resides at Clay-Nob Farms in Pennsylvania...I still cant believe I sold her-I don't usually let ones like this leave...lol look how many pictures I have of her 🤣

Her belly here was full of grass! It was a fulfilling day out on pasture! She is a twin and weighed 96 pounds at 4 1/2 months old out on pasture.
