We bailed hay in our pasture for the first time. Well, I didn’t, but Abel Dairy Farms did. Our little farm produced 32 big bales of hay, each weighing about 850 to 900 pounds. Bales were; 3’x4’x7’.  Being new to this, it still fascinates me. 🤷‍♂️🚜🐄😂🧑🏻‍🌾

Big shout out and thank you to Abel Dairy Farms for cutting our pasture today. Their equipment is amazing and faster than I ever imagined! It’ll be interesting to see how many big square bales they get out of this cutting

Please help me identify this plant. I’ve asked four farmer friends and some tell me it’s alfalfa and some tell me it’s not. I identified the photo with my iPhone and “Siri” thinks it’s organic alfalfa. So now looking for a consensus. It’s all over my pastures. It stands about 10 to 12 inches high. 🐄 -Sam

Chicory in full bloom in the pastures. I didn’t know this until today, but due to the long tap root it actually pulls minerals from the soil that are good for livestock. Side benefit is the blue and purple flowers in August. .

My neighbor made this for me, fantastic tree watering set up! Fill barrel with water, drive from chestnut tree to chestnut tree, watering each without getting out of the Gator! Watered 40 trees in no time! Thanks G.S.!

Earlier this spring, I planted burr oak trees at the farm . They all seem to have this infestation on the leaves as of late. Any ideas?
