ATTENTION ALL HMC CUSTOMERS

We are planning to open the pits beginning of next week (8/24-8/25).

If you will be bringing corn, please call Camryn at the office with field names, ownership splits & approx acres if you haven't already so we can make our process as efficient as possible.

We also have paper copies of the sheets below available at the office if you swing by!

HIGH MOISTURE CORN IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

Ford County Feeders is estimating to take about 1.8-2mil bu of HMC this year.
We are hoping to open the pits at the END OF AUGUST.
Please remember, delivery is based on a first come-first serve basis until pits are full.
A handful of folks have already contacted us with their intent to deliver, so feel free to give us a call or email us with your information and any questions you may have.

A few weeks ago, part of our elite processing crew competed in the Beef Empire Days Cattle Working Contest. This was only their second year competing and they managed to bring home second place, with only a few seconds difference versus the first place team.

The contest began with 18 separate 4 member teams from multiple feedyards working cattle in their own barns. The top 5 teams from the preliminaries were then invited to BEEF BELT, LLC in Scott City to work a set of cattle in a new (and unfamiliar) processing barn.
Teams were judged on animal handling, technique and administration of vaccines, dewormer, and implants, and the use of facilities and equipment.

Our guys did a great job and are already preparing to WIN next year's contest with 2 teams to compete!

Ford County is proud to have a great processing crew taking care of cattle.

Congratulations to Tracy & Yvonne Brunner on Being Named 2026 Stockmen of the Year ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ„

Weโ€™re proud to share that Tracy and Yvonne Brunner were recently honored as the 2026 Stockmen of the Year at the 55th Annual Stockmenโ€™s Dinner, hosted by the K-State Department of Animal Sciences and Industry in partnership with LMIC on March 5, 2026, in Manhattan, Kansas.

Tracy and Yvonne represent generations of dedication to agriculture. Based in the western Flint Hills near Ramona, Kansas, they have built a respected farming, grazing, and feeding operation while remaining deeply involved in the cattle industry. Over the years they have operated cattle and beef businesses, worked as ranchers and cattle feeders, and recently joined ownership in Ford County Feeders.

Beyond their own operation, Tracy and Yvonne have remained active in industry leadership, supporting organizations such as the Kansas Beef Council, Kansas Livestock Association, and the National Cattlemenโ€™s Beef Association, serving on committees and contributing to the advancement of the beef industry.
