As much as we welcome this rainy spell, the tomatoes do not. Rain can easily ruin a tomatoes crop in just a day or two. If you are wanting tomatoes for next week, check our online store on Monday. We should know by then if they are of good quality. We will have a great selection at the PSU and Hollywood markets on Saturday!

The first vegetable garden I can remember was in this field. Popcorn, the golden retriever, thinks this place is best, too, but for different reasons. She spends hours across the creek hunting varmints, eating carrots and corn, and taking dips in the beaver pond.

We have been picking sweet corn at sunrise for over 40 years. When corn is harvested cold, it remains cold and holds its sweetness longer. This is why the men suit up before dawn and I brave a cold, wet tractor seat for corn harvested at its prime!
