Great Day Gardens Great Day Gardens is a small farm in Forest, VA that cultures healthy vegetables, and wood fired sourdough breads. We run a CSA program, check it out!

On one acre just a mile south of the Forest Library, we are producing vegetables, flowers, herbs, plant starts and artisan breads. Our produce is grown without any synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides. Although we are not certified, we apply permaculture principles, bio-intensive techniques, and go beyond organic standards to produce healthy food and improve our local ecosystem. Our bre

ad is naturally leavened with wild yeast using traditional techniques and a wood-fired oven, adding complex flavors while facilitating digestion. We include organic, locally grown, ingredients whenever possible. You can get our goods by ordering on our website, finding us at the Lynchburg Community Market every Saturday, joining our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm-share program, or visiting our on-site farm market.

New things in season 🥕🥕🥕

So many of you have been asking for carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and squash…well they’re here! They’ve been selling out quickly, so come early to markets tomorrow if you want to get your hands on some.

The solution? Kaolin clay! An organic beetle resister.

Ever notice those pesky little beetles munching away at your healthy cucumber or squash plants and feel a sinking dread?

Try mixing powdered 1-2 cups of kaolin clay per gallon of water and fully submerge all the leaves before planting. The clay created a gummy coating, which builds up on the antennae of the beetles and then makes it hard for them to navigate or identify the plant. A great natural option to protect your plants!
