This is a busy time of year, and I'm always looking for shortcuts to making meals. My favorite is still the crock pot. Whether I load it with a chicken, a pork roast, or ribs, I can be off and running and dinner is ready when I come back in. If you haven't tried Crockpot Ribs, you need to this weekend. I will have Spare Ribs and Baby Back Ribs from our Idaho Pasture Pigs this weekend at the Fredonia Farmers' Market. Come try some!

This NYT recipe is perfect for sausages from our Idaho Pasture Pigs, paired with chickpeas from Seneca Grain and Bean and fresh spinach from Maggitti Farms. Support local farms every week at the Fredonia Farmers' Market. We currently have Mild Italian Sausage, Kielbasa Sausage, Andouille Sausage, and Chorizo Sausage in coils, and Breakfast Sage Sausage and plain Ground Pork in bulk rolls.

I always keep sausages on hand in the freezer. Quick to defrost, preseasoned and ready for your pan, they are a boon for those crazy, busy nights.

We overwintered three turkeys from last fall, and this week processed them for ground turkey. Pasture raised with organic feed, they topped out at 70 lbs live weight! We'll have a fresh batch of this clean, healthy meat at the Fredonia Farmers' Market. The Pioneer Woman is always a good source for great family recipes.... which one are you making first?

Try it in salads, chili bowls, and casseroles.

It's chick week at Roo Haven Farm! Our 1st batch of 2026 American Bresse and Delaware eggs hatched out of the incubator, and our batch of Freedom Ranger meat chicks arrived. All are thriving! We still have a good supply of meat chickens in the freezer, so you can take advantage of spring asparagus and other goodies available for a super healthy meal!

I make a sweet & tangy BBQ sauce that has been in my family for years, but I'm not gonna lie, this recipe sounds amazing! The weather is warm, the sun is shining, what's stopping you from getting out the grill? These BBQ ribs are baked, then grilled and basted with a homemade sweet and spicy BBQ sauce with rum until sticky, smoky, and tender.
