Well, y'all, I woke up this morning thinking about goals. This is a topic that comes up a lot around our place. The main thing I try to impress on anyone I talk to on this topic is that goals can be wildly different from person to person. Even within our house, we may have different ideas of what success looks like, but it's essential that we communicate and share our ideas.

Around here, at the end each show season with a conversation on the way home about what's our main goal for the upcoming show season. This year is extremely different, as we are stepping away from the Jr. show circuit her in Texas. The flock will transition from a focus on Hunter and Hannah's show careers to supporting the youth in our county and state.

When you start to think about your goals, remember that your goal will be different from someone else's. Success can be defined in many ways; don't use someone else as your bar. Make a goal that is specific to you and work hard to achieve it. You're not always going to meet a specific goal, but that doesn't mean you scrap it. Evaluate what needs to be adjusted, put that into a plan, and put that plan into action!

Keep grinding and don't get outworked!

What have the sheep done for us?

Today our young Shepherdess had an amazing opportunity at the State Fair of Texas thanks to Moo U and Pete and Jeannene Xanthus to be an ambassador for our industry to the youth of Dallas ISD. It was a day full of fun and education about sheep and goats. The staff was amazing and for Hannah Hewitt to have the opportunity to network with the folks that are instrumental for putting on the show that has ignited the fire in her to exhibit and raise the sheep we do is priceless!

The Fair has always been her favorite and this is one more reason this will continue to be our favorite show!

Congratulations to Lila Colgrove and her top 10 placing wether at Fort Worth. This young lady and her family are starting off right with a good lamb and a great crew!

This wether was purchased off the farm this summer and is hitting his stride at the right time.

While we were in Corsicana at the CTYDA National Showdown Mr. Henry was at our home barn. The Wild Turkey Livestock Show was a success for him, knocking it out the park with his white dorper wether, bringing home his 1st ever banner!

We raise White Dorpers primilary but the Cheviot flock holds a special place in our heart, and THE heart of this flock starts with this ram, Versace (Rincker 744). He's back to back bannered at our state fair here in Texas, which is a true testament to his longevity and stamina. To do it as a lamb and again as a yearling is amazing. BUT..... This year the old man had to stay home and send the boys to the fair in his place. His yearling ram and ram lamb took the stage and knocked it out of the park! The boys swept the ORB ram classes bringing home the Champion and Reserve banners, all while he's home covering the ewes for next spring's crop!

Dusty Rincker we will be forever grateful for you sending this exceptional sheep to Texas for us!
