This weekend we did our second community Pig Roast for Living Word Fellowship Church in Whitewater. This is a free event open to the public in the interest of community outreach and sharing a meal, cooked by us! We did a 110lb pig and cooked it on our Jacks Old South 48” water smoker. During prep last night there ended up being a group of kids hanging out at the church playing who wanted nothing more than to see the pig, so we brought them in for a little lesson on the different parts of the pig and where their food comes from. As you can see from the pictures, they were completely invested, and it was a lot of fun to teach these kids new things too!

The cook itself was eventful, highlighted by some annoying air flow problems ( they cant all be perfect) but we pulled it off and served well over 100 people some fantastic pulled pork! Thank you to Living Word Fellowship for having us, and thank you everyone for coming out and enjoying the beautiful weather! And finally, thank you to Dani for the help with service, and for running me more wood in the middle of the night! Lovely Jubbly!

We have just gotten home after a long drive from Ames, IA, for the Smoke Out Cancer benefit competition, and boy did we have fun. It didn't take much to convince us to go after we heard that some of our good friends were going to be there Bbq Pit Bros, Chester's Twisted Que, Family Tradition Bbq, Nate Hoffmann, and Noah Hoffmann. We cooked Chicken Wings, Baby Back Ribs, and Pork Loin today, and in a field of 12, I'd say we did alright! I couldn't be happier with the day.

Here are our results for the day:
Chicken Wings- 3rd (Redemption for the RCOA World Championships)
Baby Backs- 6th
Pork Loin- 6th

Overall- 6th!

Huge shoutout to Dani and Ellie for helping; I love you both!
