Over the years, Wishing Star Barn has been lucky to welcome so many incredible riders and families into our little world. Watching students grow in confidence, build partnerships with their horses, and fall in love with riding has meant more to us than we could ever fully put into words.

As our personal lives have grown and changed, and as we begin moving our business in a different direction, we’ve made the difficult decision that we will no longer be accepting new horseback riding lesson students. We have very limited availability this summer and will be focusing on fulfilling our commitments to our current active students as we gradually phase out riding lessons.

This decision was not easy, because this program has been built alongside all of you. Thank you for trusting us with your riders, supporting our barn, and being part of so many special memories.

A very big part of this transition is the retirement of our amazing main lesson horse, Sisco. He has patiently carried and taught so many riders over the years, helping countless students gain confidence and fall in love with horses. His impact on our barn and the lifelong imprint he has made on our riders is truly immeasurable, and we are so grateful for everything he has given.

Thank you all for being part of our journey. We’re so thankful for the memories we’ve made together and are excited to share what the future brings for us here at The Wishing Star Barn! ⭐

So excited to have won this drawing! Having this piece of equipment on hand will truly be an incredible gift for our farm.
At 24 years old, Zip is still going strong and giving her all. But with age comes management to keep our athletes performing as long as they comfortably can, and then beyond that into their retirement years.
We use various treatments to manage Zip’s neck arthritis, but laser therapy truly brings her SO much comfort and relief, helping to keep her able to comfortably ride still with the Kettle Moraine Rough Riders!
This laser will do so much not only for Zip, but for all of our horses out here.

⭐️ Important announcement for our Wishing Star Barn followers! ⭐️

We are beyond excited that our very own Kaitlyn Stiemke is expecting a little baby girl this summer! We can’t wait to have a new cowgirl of our own to spoil and share our love of horses with. Until she arrives, we are not yet sure what capacity we will have for lessons this year. We will have to play it by ear on how things are going once the weather warms up in May!

✨At this time, we will not be taking on new lesson students for Spring or Summer 2025. We are going to prioritize our consistent lesson students from 2024 as often and for long as we can once we are able to get back outside. But be advised that we will likely take a break for some time mid-July through August, while our entire family welcomes a little one to the world! ✨

Anyone new to our lessons who is interested in signing up, please message our page for info and we can add your name to a wait list for potential fall lessons this year! Any existing students with questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out as well.

We miss you all dearly and can’t wait to hopefully see you all soon this spring! Until then, stay warm and cozy for the rest of winter!
