We have a big announcement. We are beginning the transition of our operation to a different location. Let me start by saying this is not goodbye. We will continue to provide food to this community we care so much about. The fact of the matter is we have outgrown our farm. We have explored so many opportunities locally but the housing development of local farmland is outpacing any chance we have of adding long term local land access to our business. We need more space to grow and we need long term land access that grants us peace of mind. We have been running at a scale for far too long that is nearing unsustainable for the land and for the mental health of those who care for it. This change gives us the chance to ease the load and to bring in outside support with the goal of educating future farmers and ranchers.
We are in the process of migrating our operation to Garfield County, Nebraska on the eastern edge of The Sandhills. We have an amazing opportunity to continue to produce pork and beef the same way we have from the start.
I cannot underestimate how much the support of our customers has brought us to this point. Without your belief in what we do, this new chapter would not be possible. As I always say, “If people stop caring about where their food comes from I’m out of a job”. We are not going anywhere, we hope you won’t either!
