This is a Spring 2025 yearling ram that has proven to be an avid breeder (covering 100% of his ewes so far), thrives on a pasture based program, is a good shedder, and is an easy going keeper. He is out of a type 5 sire and type 4 dam and had the highest ADG on grass and nursing as a lamb. I'm excited to see these attributes in his lambs!

We are very proud to have had our first Dorper stud inspection completed by South African judge Colene van der Merwe.
I am happy to say that we have been doing something right and tagged the majority of our ewes as Type 5s.
This will help us continue to drive our flock towards the South African breed type while preserving conformation and the productivity of the Dorper.
We learned A LOT about the standard and it was wonderful to talk sheep for two days with an expert.
Thank you WSDA for offering this opportunity to breeders.
*now to find the right herds to place our lambs!

The ewe & lamb flock have been grazing a beautiful property in northern Colorado. Yesterday they were let into a pond area with LOTS of kochia. You can hardly see some of the flock in this pic! I'm excited to see how they clear these delicious weeds!
I will post an after picture when they are done with their "work".

Lambing has officially begun!
Fullblood and commercial Dorpers out of our forage based program. I'm so impressed with how quickly these babies are up, nursing, and ready to go.

Puppies in the Garden!
Everyone is 7 weeks old as of Monday and THRIVING! They are following me around the property "helping" me do small chores then taking turns having individual time with me away from their siblings.
I am SO excited for the little beauties to go to their new homes next week 🥰 they are the happiest little pups and have no problem being goofballs - as seen in the pics 😂

And yes.... green boy is still available. I'm having a really hard time posting something more official... he's pretty special 💚
