I’ve shared with some, but for those who hadn’t heard - lost a cow couple months back post-calf to what we deduced to internal bleeding. Tough pill to swallow knowing she had plenty of good years left, even more difficult to convince yourself you did everything you could. Nature dictates the course… impossible to ignore the bond behind daily interaction and the unique characteristics each animal carries. Death was sudden and unexpected, but far from wasted. We butchered on-site, her years now providing valuable sustenance. Saved the head and hide to remember a beautiful animal. Cheers Lelo, ya did good.
