The name on the bottle is walking through the door.

David Coors, fifth generation of the family that's been brewing in Colorado since 1873, is coming to Fort Collins on Thursday, September 10. He's pouring Barmen 1873 Bourbon, the whiskey he spent nearly two decades bringing to life, right alongside an ice-cold Coors Banquet.

Supermarket Liquors has been part of Sarah’s life since day one.

Her father and uncle opened the store 50 years ago and for the past 9 years, she's owned it alongside her business partner Wayne, running the family business from behind the scenes: the books, the hiring paperwork, the jobs that keep a 50-year-old store going strong.

The shelves belong to the staff, and she'll tell you that herself, proudly. Ask her how to find something new and she'll say, "look for a cute label," joking, then point you straight to the team. They know these aisles better than anyone.

She has her favorites, though. The white wine aisle is special to her and lately she's recommending a Fableist Chardonnay to just about everyone. Her hidden gem is May George, a French sparkling rosé she thinks deserves more attention.

Fifty years ago, her father and uncle started something worth keeping. Sarah and Wayne aren't just keeping it going. They're adding to the legacy.

This Saturday, Old Town turns into the world's greatest costumed bike parade. Tour de Fat rides again on August 29, and it's completely free.

The parade rolls from City Park at 9:30 AM and loops Mountain Avenue, then the party lands at New Belgium, from 11 to 7. Tune-Yards headlines, and beer sales go to local bike nonprofits. Fort Collins at its finest.

Riding, watching, or hosting the after-party? Grab the hometown pour on the way.

TinCup was founded by Stranahan's co-founder Jess Graber and named for the historic high-country mining town of Tincup, Colorado. It blends high-rye bourbon with Colorado single malt, cut with Rocky Mountain water: caramel and baking spice up front, clean rye finish on the way out.

Taste it for yourself this Saturday, August 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Duffs Old Town Sausage Cart will be parked outside, and the shop will be running signature dog tag engraving with plenty of pet swag to take home for your four-legged friend.

Some bottles get posted about. This one gets visited.

Buffalo Trace's O.F.C. Vintage 2004 is one of the rarest releases the distillery makes. O.F.C. stands for "Old Fashioned Copper," the name of the original 1870 distillery, and this bourbon honors it properly: distilled in 2004, aged nearly two decades, and bottled at 90 proof in a hand-cut crystal decanter with genuine copper letters inlaid in the glass. It even arrives in its own display case with a provenance card.

The price: $2,800. Before the sticker shock sets in, the same bottle lists for as much as $4,000 online.

One bottle. In-store only. First-come, first-served. Come see it in person, even if you're just window shopping — it's the closest thing Fort Collins has to a bourbon museum exhibit right now.
