When we moved to this property I knew the farm would have to be no-till. There's not enough room to use a tractor or even a BCS. I'm using every inch of the 1/4 acre growing space, right up to the fence lines. Thankfully the soil is light and beautiful and easy to broadfork. Using landscape fabric across the majority of the space has been the winning move. I left the fabric outside over the winter and the bed prep this spring has been magical

Happy for these two worker bees in training. So many funnies happening all the time. Today I took a nap next to my toddler's bed (where he was supposed to be napping). I woke up alone with the toddler sleeping in my bedroom 😂

This mini broakdfork from is my kind of style. It's lightweight. Which means I'm more eager to carry it around with me all day (vs. leave it in the shed bc it's so far away and heavy).

My current no-till bed prep method: irrigate, pull/scuffle weeds, fork, bed rake, plant

Got the pump working. Now I just have to fix all the drip tape leaks and we're good to go. I love how the rain seems to always happen on ditch water days 😭
