Join us this Saturday, September 5th for our 6th Anniversary. We're tapping our Colorado Pale Ale on our new beer engine! Try this tasty beer in one of our favorite ways. Our version of cask beers, or real ale as they call them in the UK, are cold (not warm!) and lower carb (not flat!), a lot like a nitro beer, and we think our Colorado Pale tastes amazing this way.

We've tapped a special new beer for Harvest Fest: a brown ale! We are certain this is the next trendy hype beer style and will soon be replacing Hazy IPAs on taproom menus across the country.

Our Harvest Brown Ale is bright and surprisingly easy drinking while still being packed full of flavor from the custom small batch malts from Troubadour Maltings and the is well balanced by Nugget hops from Billy Goat Hop Farm

Harvest Fest is in full swing and Yes Chef Trailer is serving an amazing Colorado ingredient menu today. We'll have live music from 6-8pm featuring Rusty 44

Colorado Craft Malt Spotlight

One of the things we're most proud of at Stodgy is that every beer we brew is made with 100% Colorado-grown craft malt. It's a commitment we've made since day one, and we're fortunate to have two incredible local maltsters helping make it possible.

Just down the road in Fort Collins, Troubadour Maltings crafts exceptional malt from locally grown barley, wheat, oats, and rye. They're also one of the few maltsters capable of producing small-batch custom roasts, allowing us to create unique specialty malts for beers like our Harvest Brown Ale, which we'll be tapping on Saturday.

A few miles south in Loveland, Root Shoot Malting is a fifth-generation family farm and malthouse that grows and malts its own barley, wheat, oats, rye, and non-GMO corn. Managing every step from seed to kiln gives them incredible consistency, quality, and traceability. Try our Premium Lager for a showcase of their malted corn, where it adds a subtle sweetness and superb drinkability.

This Saturday at Harvest Fest, every beer on tap showcases the incredible work of these two Colorado maltsters.

Colorado's craft beer scene starts long before the brewhouse, and Harvest Fest is our chance to celebrate it. We're grateful to partner with Troubadour Maltings and Root Shoot Malting, whose work makes it possible for breweries across Colorado to brew with truly local ingredients.

Harvest Fest is Saturday! August 8th

Supplier spotlight: Billy Goat Hop Farm in Montrose is the last hop farm in Colorado. Owned and operated by Chris & Audrey and founded in 2017, they’ve earned national recognition, including two Cascade Cup wins (the only farm outside OR & WA to win!).

And since they're the last hop farm in Colorado, every beer on tap this Saturday will feature their hops.

If you’re in Montrose, swing by their farm! It's open to the public with camping, tours, & events.
Go drink a Stodgy beer for their Fridays on the Farm with food, and live music!

New beer! We just released our XPA and it's the perfect beer for a hot summer day.

What is an XPA? It stands for Extra Pale Ale. While the term (and style) has been a bit vague and nebulous over the years, we specifically modeled ours after the Australian interpretation.

It's extra pale in color with a dry, lean malt body and an amplified hop aroma. Think of it as having the crisp drinkability of a pilsner paired with the expressive hop aromatics of a modern pale ale.

We brewed ours with ultra-pale Yacht Rock malt from Troubadour Maltings (and we'll be pouring this beer at the first-ever Yacht Rock Fest at Full Frame Beer today). In the kettle, we hopped it with Colorado-grown Vista and New Zealand-grown Motueka. Then we dry hopped it with New York-grown Vista and Vista TerpSauce from The HOPGUILD , along with New Zealand-grown Motueka Amplifire.
