Colorado Craft Malt Spotlight
One of the things we're most proud of at Stodgy is that every beer we brew is made with 100% Colorado-grown craft malt. It's a commitment we've made since day one, and we're fortunate to have two incredible local maltsters helping make it possible.
Just down the road in Fort Collins, Troubadour Maltings crafts exceptional malt from locally grown barley, wheat, oats, and rye. They're also one of the few maltsters capable of producing small-batch custom roasts, allowing us to create unique specialty malts for beers like our Harvest Brown Ale, which we'll be tapping on Saturday.
A few miles south in Loveland, Root Shoot Malting is a fifth-generation family farm and malthouse that grows and malts its own barley, wheat, oats, rye, and non-GMO corn. Managing every step from seed to kiln gives them incredible consistency, quality, and traceability. Try our Premium Lager for a showcase of their malted corn, where it adds a subtle sweetness and superb drinkability.
This Saturday at Harvest Fest, every beer on tap showcases the incredible work of these two Colorado maltsters.
Colorado's craft beer scene starts long before the brewhouse, and Harvest Fest is our chance to celebrate it. We're grateful to partner with Troubadour Maltings and Root Shoot Malting, whose work makes it possible for breweries across Colorado to brew with truly local ingredients.
