Some places don't need a sign on the interstate to find them. 🦃 The locals already know exactly where to turn.

Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, Alabama has been serving slow-smoked turkey to South Alabama families since 1938, making it one of the oldest continuously operating roadside food institutions in the entire state. While the rest of the world was chasing trends, Bates House just kept doing what it always did: smoking turkey low and slow the old-fashioned way, the way it was meant to be done.

If you've ever made the drive down U.S. 31 through Greenville and caught that hickory smoke drifting across the road, you already know the feeling. You don't keep driving. You stop. 🌿
