Love fancy soaps? Know someone who does? Our handmade goat milk soaps are up now in limited release on the site. This year we transitioned from making cheese to making soap full time and these luxurious soaps are the result of all that labor.

Previously available only in NYC, we’ve got bundle deals and free shipping over $50 and all items ship by next week to arrive before the holidays.

Once this release is over they are gone until next year, so grab some now. https://moxieridgefarm.com/collections/soap

If you’re thinking about getting goats this year, check out the free Moxie Ridge Guide to Getting Started with Goats. It’s designed to teach you the basics of what you’ll need to bring your first goats home.

I’m sure I could write a whole book on this, but this short guide will give you a good foundation on your way to being a great goat owner. I want you to be educated and prepared for your goat era!

It’s free and you can find it here https://stan.store/moxieridge

Featured here is my very first goat and best friend for 8 years, Timmy.

Waiting for the doctor.

It’s fair week and the vets are busy but we were able to get in so this little guy could see the doc about a hernia in a difficult spot. He was a total pro.

Thank you Jasper Hill Farm for sharing such a thoughtful, moving post. This kind of support means so much.

Years ago, when I was working as a local cheesemonger and a farmhand in goat barns, Jasper Hill Farm was an inspiration and the cheeses were a part of my decision to become a cheesemaker.

Thank you for this support. It means the world to me.

I am starting a fundraiser and it’s incredibly important to the farm. https://www.gofundme.com/trans-farm-fundraiser

Last year we had a catastrophic equipment failure during our high season for producing cheese. We lost roughly half the year’s income in the 2+ months this equipment was down. Now the farm is at risk of closing and it’s a nightmare come to life. (For the full story see the GoFundMe link at the top and bottom of this post.)

The full story includes our insurance company operating in bad faith and a legal battle. We have received technical assistance to work with a lawyer, but there is no timeline or up-front price tag with a legal battle and no guarantee that we will ever see this money. After months of waiting, loans, and selling off part of our herd, we need financial help now.

My goal is to make up as much of what we lost as possible through this GoFundMe before our kidding (baby goat) season starts in May so we don't have to close down the farm. It's a hefty goal but we are already part way there!

If you want to find out more, I’ve shared the full narrative on the gofundme page. It is important to me that you know, however, that I would not be doing a fundraiser for this unless things were dire - and they are.

It is only since starting this farm 6 years ago that I have been able to not only come out as a trans man and become my authentic self, but also work to help the q***r and trans community in agriculture. This farm has given me a purpose, joy, and a platform to help others. I've even had the opportunity to help build the first trans farmer network, which is launching later this spring. I hope to continue not only farming, but this community work for years to come - I've only just scratched the surface of what I can give back.

If you are upset about trans people being targeted right now; this is an opportunity to actually do something to help.

If you are financially able to help, these donations make a big difference. Sharing also helps! If you have been positively affected by Moxie Ridge and the work we do, please share that story with your community along with this post or a link.

If you are q***r and considering starting a farm or looking to win more grants for your farm, come check out this free skill-share that I'm teaching with Baylee Drown of . It's free!

I'm thrilled to be 1/2 of this educational tag-team and I'll be zooming in from Moxie Ridge to give you an honest look at the grant ecosystem and what you can do to win the grants you are applying for. Then Baylee will teach you where to look for the best grants for your farm and going over effective alternative funding methods to consider in addition to grants.

If you're lucky enough to live near Lyme, CT, you can attend in person at Long Table Farm. 1pm starts the farm tour and potluck. Otherwise, the zoom starts at 2:30pm. This presentation is based on the US system, but of course, if you are outside the US you are welcome to attend.

If you know a q***r farmer or future q***r farmer, please share or send this along!
