Good morning! 🌤 Already up and nursing!

Another accidentally-bred OWE. We had to manually open her a bit and use lots of lube...and retrieve a hoof 😩. She's going to be a great mom to this ewe lamb.

Really 🙏 appreciate her doing this on my day off!

🫢 Surprise! Lambing season is NOT over!

I found this 3-pounder running around, being chased by his cousins, when I went out to feed this evening. I had to do some circles to figure out which accidentally-bred yearling dropped him. We had so much fun 🤪 trying to catch her in the dark, but they are now in a jug! He was cleaned up 🛀 when I found him 🙏. She did claim him, and I sat and waited 🔦 until he vigorously nursed.

He's actually really tough for a lightweight. 🥊🥊
I think he'll be alright! We might have to call him Hercules or something.

I still need to salt pelts from the mobile butcher's visit today, put skulls in the cooler to deal with any other time but tonight, and then do the whole vet check/vitamins/navel dip routine later on this little lamb. I'm a night 🦉and tonight is beautiful, so I don't mind.

Lambing issue: Large single ram lamb. Head stuck due to hornbuds and size.

This is the huge ewe I just posted earlier this afternoon!
I was frustrated when I could only move the left leg forward on the first lamb, then saw meconium. 🚨 I put my hand as far in along his body as possible and guided him out, cleared his nose asap, and protected his shoulder.

When I checked for lamb #2 right after #1, it was way down there. We let her contract and work the baby up the birth canal. I did a 20 min check and a 25 min check, moved the one hoof, and then let the ewe finish. If you can move them around before a nose is out, it's easier.
