Weaning and preconditioning day for the calves.
Both Simmental bull calves averaged just over 3lb/day gained since calving.
The Angus calves averaged 2.5lb/day gained since calving.

Hawk, 1 1/2 year old solid black SimAngus bull from Loomis Simmentals - LSJL.
His first calf crop will start hitting the ground February-March 2024.

We are watching the bull calves grow and starting to think about which ones we will steer and which ones will make great bull prospects.

I have to include the neatest painted Corriente cow.

A little delayed posting this one, but the last Angus heifer calved on the 15th. Bull calf sired by an RB Ten Times son.

We have another Simmental cow, a Corriente cow, and 9 of our commercial cows left to go.

We've had a break/gap in our calving season. The calves we have on the ground are growing like weeds.
