Imagine a breed of chicken that offers visual variety regarding feather colors and patterns, is dual purpose, cold hardy, just the right amount of broody with good mothering skills, has a calm temperament AND is fancy enough to be a giant lawn ornament AND gives you a huge variety in egg colors? Im doing a thing! Next March I will be beginning my first official breeding project! Im creating MY perfect chicken breed! Im naming them Colorado Crested! It will come in 4 varieties! Rainbow, Dark, Light and Natural. Im not going to give away all the secrets but the rainbow line will consist of O/O and O/o birds the dark and light lines will have o/o birds. All 3 lines will have those dark overlay, speckle, and bloom genes sprinkled in various concentrations. And the natural line will just be birds from all 3 lines mixed, letting nature handle egg colors. This guy, is a huge player in this project.

41…clutches 3, 4, & 5 produced 41 Muscovy babies. They even have two broody chickens helping them mom. Still have 21 of the older ducklings, 3 goslings and 65 chickens of various ages. Remember I started this with 17 chickens at the end of December 🤣😂🤦🏻‍♀️

One of the things having ducks and geese has taught me:
Why my parents said no to filling the kiddie pool so often.😂🤣 If I could go back in time, I would tell them to install sink drains😊

I am not likely to ever keep bees. Ive never been stung by a bee. But my bodies reaction to mosquito, ant, and even fly bites tell me its something I should avoid.
