It's Friday! And, it's post-Noon! Late-lunchers come join us! Getting off earlier than usual... come join us! We are dubbing ourselves as a "third place."
The concept of the Third Place really resonates with us! It's fascinating to think about how our homes and workplaces shape our lives, yet there's something special about those communal spaces that enrich our experiences. Third Places are where we find connection, build friendships, and share ideas in a relaxed environment. They nurture creativity and foster a sense of belonging, reminding us that we are part of something larger. A huge shout-out to Paul Cross (a visitor from another state), who shared this concept with us... they felt we were a "third place" as first-time visitors.
Whether it's a coffee shop, park, or any gathering spot, these places hold the potential for meaningful interactions and memorable connections in our community!! We have several... Books on Main, Country Road Vines and Wines, Barnwood Roasting Co., and the Moonlight Cocktail Bar.
A third place is:
Open and inviting.
You donāt need an invitation or appointment, and you can come and go as you please.
Comfortable and informal.
You feel that you belong there.
šConvenient.
Itās close enough to visit often, ideally right in your own neighborhood.
šš„°Unpretentious.
Everyone is on the same level, thereās nothing fancy or fragile, and there is something for everyone.
š«There are regulars.
And often thereās a host who greets people as they arrive.
šConversation is the main activity.
Discussion and lively conversation are part of the mix.
ššLaughter is frequent.
The mood is light-hearted and playful. Joking and witty banter are encouraged.
